The objective of a Backgammon game is to shift your pieces around the Backgammon board and pull those pieces off the game board faster than your competitor who works just as hard to do the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a round of Backgammon requires both tactics and good luck. Just how far you will be able to move your pieces is left to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and the way you move your pieces are determined by your overall playing strategies. Players use a few techniques in the different parts of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Plan
The aim of the Running Game technique is to bring all your checkers into your home board and pull them off as quickly as you can. This technique focuses on the speed of moving your checkers with absolutely no time spent to hit or barricade your opponent’s checkers. The best time to employ this technique is when you think you can shift your own checkers faster than the opponent does: when 1) you have less pieces on the board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s checkers; or 3) your opposing player doesn’t use the hitting or blocking strategy.
The Blocking Game Technique
The main goal of the blocking strategy, by the title, is to block your opponent’s chips, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your pieces quickly. Once you have established the barrier for the competitor’s movement with a couple of chips, you can shift your other chips swiftly from the game board. You should also have a clear strategy when to withdraw and shift the pieces that you used for the blockade. The game gets interesting when your competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
